Note The LAST GASP is for PSG members only, and special guests of members.  (Of course you are invited to join PSG and pay the modest dues.) Note :The GASP fee is unchanged from last year even though the costs are up.

The LAST GASP is Labor Day weekend.

(Labor Day is: Monday, September 6, 2010; Monday, September 5, 2011; Monday, September 3, 2012; ... The LAST GASP starts on the first Friday before Labor Day. Come after noon Friday. This is a new place for us and we don't want to overstep our agreements with the camp owners.)

Road Map to Camp Woodhaven:

road map

Roughly, the route from the south is:
  • Central Ave. toward Schenectady,
    > becomes State Street;
  • continue through Schenectady and cross bridge into Scotia,
    > becomes Rt 5;
  • Turn right on Sacandaga Rd (rt 147);
  • Proceed thru Scotia, West Glenville, West Charlton, and Galway (about 16 miles)
  • to Alexander Road, a mile or so, north of the Village of Galway. (if you get to Rt 29 go back.)

Turn right on Alexander; see the camp sign on left, after turning onto Alexander.

Turn into the parking lot. (See the Turtle sign at the entry to the camp.)

You may want to park there, temporarily, while you explore for a good camp site.
Big RVs should stay here for the weekend.

Also check the CAMP WOODHAVEN SITE ORIENTATION booklet - mostly for the girls but you'll get the idea. It's a PDF document (needs adobe acrobat, which you are likely to have.)

Satellite View. (thanks to google)

Many pavillions, walking trails,  and camping areas are obscured by the trees in this view.
The Troop house is the main building.

See below for photos from the ground.

A nice view -
 some camping facilities on far side.

See  some more photos of our early tour of the place.  Might try the slide show feature - see button on left after you get to the photo gallery.
It will open in another window; just close the window when you are finished viewing the photos.
