| A
gallery of photos of the main "Gather'n" of 2005 (
the Chinese year of the Rooster :-) If you have been to the GottaGetGon you will recognize many of the faces. If the GottaGetGon folk festival is new to you, welcome; the photos may encourage you to smile a bit and maybe take part in our musical and social activities for all ages and musical abilities (including no musical talent but an interest in folk music.) Ours is a diverse supportive group that likes to make music together. Some of us play an instrument, some sing, some both, and some just gather and enjoy. Our music is not always the most current but it's always fun, interesting, poignant or just silly.
Most folks in PSG like to make music themselves, only about half the people at GGG are members of the PSG; at the GottaGetGon we hire a few professionals who serve as the core of our program. A lot of the activity is off stage - jamming among friends old and new. The distinct elements of GGG include: Concerts and workshops - enough to fill all your time if you choose, an informal Country Dance for all ages Saturday night, and an a capella sing Sunday night around a dim lantern - it's a magical experience.
In addition to these things in our written program, there is always jamming and singing at the campsites - enough to fill all your time as well. Some people never attend a concert; others never participate in the informal activities. There is no pressure to do either. On Friday night we have a pot luck dinner and a concert of new, usually young, performers that are especially attractive to a younger crowd, with new musical ideas - not that the "older folks" are likely to miss it though. I sure hope you enjoy these pictures - a sampling of GGG'05. |

As you
peruse the relatively unordered photos you will see individuals,
audiences, performers performing, kids doing kid things, and hopefully
get a sense of the general good time we have.
