The Pickin' and Singin' Gatherin',
its members, and guests
gather in September*
at "The LAST GASP"
(of the summer festival season).

It's a family camping weekend with no paid performers and no scheduled events--just lots of time to play, hike, sing, enjoy the outdoors, and share music and friendship. Most of us think it's the best folk festival there is.  It's for PSG members only--but you can become a member there and then. Join us.
*Labor Day Weekend
(weekend before the first Monday in Sept)
  • Fri, Aug 31, 2007 (arrive after 3:00pm)
  • Saturday & Sunday - making music, food, friends - no schedule.
  • Mon  - Labor Day is 1st Monday in Sept. = Sept 3, 2007  (leave before 4:00pm)
Please bring cash--no checks!
$10 per adult for the weekend, or $5. per day.
Children are free.
Pay Bruce Pomeroy (If you don't know them, ask around.) This is a really CHEAP weekend, and half the proceeds goes to Girls, Inc. for the use of the camp. Please make it your responsibility to pay as soon as you arrive.

We'll be at Camp Brookledge, a beautiful small, rustic, heavily wooded camp about 45 minutes northwest of Albany. It has narrow trails between small units and campsites, and access to a large open pavilion with a fire place. The Ice Bucket (aptly named, a small spring-fed pond for swimming), and two all-gender gang bathrooms. In recent years the camp has added hot water and showers.

Song and Mirth

If you are looking for golf,
this is not the right place
This is the place for Pickin' and Singin' and Friends.
No other agenda. No schedule at all.

Camping:
Each unit can hold a number of tents; few of the units are accessible by car, but walking distances are reasonably short. Because of its size, the New Playing Field will be used for tent camping only. Please unload your car or van, then park it alongside the road without blocking access to the grounds (no small feat) The Old playing field can accommodate small campers, RVs, pop-ups, or sleep-in vans (even the errant sailboat). Feel free to camp in any of the other areas of the grounds. We request that you use open space efficiently, and be considerate of others -- open space is limited. You may want to put your tarp up in the field, and tent in the woods (it's quieter for sleeping, too)

Dinner Saturday
Usually a benefit dinner will be available on-site at Chez Jake (the campsite of Jake Bryan) around 6pm.  Check it out.

Directions:

It's at the intersection of Antioch and Benzal/Clark Roads in Galway, Saratoga County, NY 12850 (Middle Grove). Bring maps with you and plan to come in the daylight. The entrance to Brookledge is very hard to find, especially in the dark, no matter how many signs and banners we put up. - [take a look at these directions with Visual aids]
