=====================
from her husband Edward Elbers
Dearest Friends of Jaye,
Jaye Alper died today at about 5pm. Her family was by her side, singing Octopus' Garden, when she passed away and she died peacefully.
Her family will be sitting shiva at Ed's home on Wednesday and Thursday evening, 6-9pm, and on Saturday from 4-7pm. This will be a time for the many people whose lives Jaye touched to extend their love and caring to Jaye's family and to each other, to bring remembrances, whether cards or photos and especially stories, and to sing together. Please bring a copy of Rise Up Singing if you have it.
If you have any questions please contact Lisa Gallatin at lisa@circleboston.org or Bob Follansbee at bob@circleboston.org.
The addresss is 66 Reed Street Court, Cambridge. Parking consideration has been granted by the city so you can park without a permit. And here is the link to google maps: http://g.co/maps/gdsp9
In peace....

Jay Alper -passing
From Vicki Kelsey,I've just heard from Margie Rosenkranz about Jay Alper.
Jay has had a recurrence of cancer, and chemotherapy has failed. She hasn't eaten for almost two weeks, and is expected to pass away within two days.
Jay is the daughter of Jackie Alper, long time host of WRPI's Mostly Folk show, who passed away a few years ago. Many people remember Jackie as the lady with the vest covered with button pins on all subjects.

DOC MURPHY TUNE JAM at Old Songs
from - Stephen Fry 10:00am May 7One of the events at this year's festival (word has it it will be at noon on Sunday) will be a "DOC MURPHY TUNE JAM". For those that didn't know him, Doc was a local musician and music teacher who had tune sessions at his house and led some local bands, but who sadly passed away recently. We hope to play some of his favorite tunes from his tune book (many are well known) in his memory, and are looking for folks who used to play with him in any of these settings to participate. Further information will be forthcoming, and tunes we hope to play will be disseminated later. If you are interested, have any information on people we should contact, or have tune suggestions, please e-mail Steve Fry at frysteve@aol.com,
See you there!
