Jeff
Warner With warmth, humor and understated scholarship, Jeff Warner connects 21st century audiences with the music and everyday lives of 19th century people. He presents musical traditions from the Outer Banks fishing villages of North Carolina, to the lumber camps of the Adirondack Mountains and the whaling ports of New England. His songs have "the stamp of authority and real experience." Warner is a Folklorist and Community Scholar for the New Hampshire Council on the Arts, has been named an Arts Council Fellow for 2007, and is on the Speaker's Roster for the New Hampshire Humanities Council. ![]() Raisin Pickers |
The Raisin Pickers are a distinguished string band that draws on a vast array of traditional influences, with fine instrumentals and a well-blended vocal focus. “A band with great talent and the rare ability to please all musical tastes” (Great American Music Festival). The Raisin Pickers are three musicians who understand completely where their music comes from and what their role is in carrying it forward. And they do this in the most entertaining way. Group consists of: Carol Palms (upright bass, fiddle, vocals) Mark Palms (clawhammer banjo, guitar, vocals) David Mosher (mandolin, fiddle, guitar, vocals) www.raisinpicker.com |

![]() Maria Gillard |
Maria
Gillard is a wonderful singer whose music is a mix of
folk,
blues, and swingy jazz propelled by a rich alto voice. Her original songs invoke universal themes like love, family, and relationships through personal stories and are a perfect mix of warmth and craft. Maria's energy on stage is inviting and contagious. She leaves audiences laughing, crying, and wanting more. She employs a natural approach to singing based on Bel Canto principles of singing. Bel Canto means "beautiful voice" and began in the Italian schools of opera study. (This is folk music, so don't tell www.mariagillard.com |

Beaucoup
Blue is a
blues lover's fix. From the delta classics to hard driving, electric
fusion blues, this is one band not to miss. They are a Philadelphia based guitar playing father and son duo of David and Adrian Mowry. The two have been performing their acoustic, blues based folk music up and down the Eastern Seaboard since Adrian was a teenager. The pair soulfully mix up top notch originals with inventive, distinctively styled covers of songs by Benny Goodman , blues singers John Lee Hooker and Elmore James, and Kid Ory and others. "Their voices work superbly together, frequently attaining a mesmeric panache that must be thrilling to view in person." - Sing-Out www.beaucoupblue.com |

Hear and see all these folks in concerts Saturday and Sunday and have closer interaction in workshops during the day. In the evening expect to find them in jam sessions throughout the fairgrounds. Saturday night we have the Country Dance and Sunday night our special a capella sing (a truly grand experience).
Friday night we have a "New Generation Folk" concert at 8pm, this year featuring several impressively talented folks who have grownup in or near PSG (The Pickin' & Singin' Gather'n) and the GottaGetGon. Monday morning is for long goodbyes, and a little more homemade music.
